Three weeks today, three weeks packed with excitement and education.
Today Lenny did a test for British School of Kuwait, as a possible alternative if necessary.
Then we had a painful, interminable drive back home, which left a both very cranky.
One day to go before we move, so blogs may go a bit awry after tonight, until we get the internet connected. God knows how long that will take. We are still waiting for our civil IDs, a bank card for me, and various other things, but everything involves the civil ID card, so until this is sorted, we can;t really do anything much.
Long interesting interaction between the mover guy, the Haris, Ahmed (concierge here at the apartment) and Alia as they nutted out our complicated moving requirements - because I have bought furniture privately. You have to wonder whether it is really worth it - might be cheaper but certainly more hassles and less guarantee of quality.
The big news in Saudi Arabia is that women has been given the right to vote and run for local government (I think) in 2015, but at the same time, a woman was convicted of 1o lashes today because whe was caught driving by herself, which is not illegal, but not allowed by the religious police. Go figure....
What! (like that) Can't drive by themselves.. for real! That's a concern...
